Everyone who searches and gets involved in a network marketing company surely sees the value and potential of the opportunity. One of their friends brought them to a hotel meeting and they were wowed by a presentation. Then they start to think about all the dollar signs and what they can do with all that money coming in. A few weeks go by and even months and the person realizes it is not as easy as they thought and the money isn’t overflowing their ATM like the top earner they heard speak. Stop and think about why this may be happening. Mindset.

Developing The Right Mindset For Network Marketing:

Your network marketing business is and should be treated like a business. To go where you want to go, your business should be treated as such instead of a hobby. Plain and simple. But, after seeing top earners speak and show the plan, you need to start thinking how to develop the right mindset to get where you want to be and where they are. Creating a vision is very important. What is the utmost goal you would like to achieve with your network marketing business? Get out of debt? Buy a nice house? Get married and have that dream honeymoon? Have your mortgage and car payment or payments taken care of? These are all valuable thoughts that should be running through your mind. Without a goal and a mindset that creates the vision, you are simply spinning your wheels.

You can start to develop the positive mindset by setting goals for yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Write down where you would like your business and income to be six months from the day you join. How about a year from when you join. Wouldn’t it be great if a year from your start date you were able to develop monthly residual income with your business that supplemented your full time income? That extra income you generate with your network marketing business could leave you not worrying about your bills again.

After getting my mind right, how do I actually get there?

This is where your plan of action partnered with your mindset comes in. You must go out and talk to people. You must surround yourself with leaders on your team, in your company and in the industry as a whole. Start asking questions after meetings and developing a solid relationship with your upline leaders. They may have a technique to offer you that may explode your business in the next few weeks after implementing it. The beauty of this industry is you can earn while you learn. There is no substitute for learning something new each day and improving your business building strategies.

Those tips above are all do’s. Now here is what not to do. Please, and I repeat please do not say you can’t or you are bad at something. For instance a lot of people get into the business and say well I’m not good at sales. I’m not good at public speaking. Phone conversations scare the heck out of me. All these are actually excuses that need to be overcome. Instead, get out there and show the plan. Talk to people and increase your credibility and posture in front of others. Become confident and allow yourself to make some mistakes. But, in order to do that, you need to leave the negatives and I can’t do this at the doorway.

If you could create a mindset for your network marketing business and be able to set personal goals for yourself you will be surprised at how much more fun working your business becomes. In time you won’t be able to sleep at night because you know you have 10-20 phone calls to make the next day. You are going to want to be hosting a presentation and sharing your story to 100-200 plus people in a room. When you finally decide in your mind that you want to achieve success, you will start acting the part and attracting others to your business relentlessly.

Hello everyone and welcome! Even though it is quite rainy here in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area I have a very important topic to share with you tonight. Most of you are searching for ways to generate more leads and really get your business pumping each and every day. Whether you show the presentation or make countless phone calls, we always strive for production. Well, the hardest task I’ve noticed among network marketers is the actual cold market lead. I know many of you cringed when I just said that, but the fact is, there are tons of opportunities in your cold market.

You see, there are many, many ways to generate leads with the internet now days that sometimes we forget that the business is really supposed to be built on relationships. “Old School,” methods as they are called still do exist and are nominally affective if done right. So, you’re at the grocery store or the local mall and you are checking out at the register. You develop a bit of a relationship with the cashier and you are so pumped up about your business. The next sentence is ready to bellow out of your mouth and all of a sudden you see their face drop and you are certain they will say no to seeing your presentation! Your mind is yelling STOP! But, you virtually spew all kinds of information at the cashier and her face turns all which ways and weirdly, but respectfully declines your offer. On to the next, and the next and the next. Well, without proper training and know-how, this situation will keep on happening time after time.

So what do we think could be a better way to approach someone about our business? Well, what do people like the most in this world? A compliment, a nice gesture, something positive! Well, I should say that 95% of people like this, but there are the people who are going to be so negative off the bat that you don’t need to even finish a conversation with. That would be called instantly qualifying and weeding out the bad ones. Now, for the good, qualified candidates that respond to your compliment or gesture, it is merely game on.

“Hello how are you today? I really like those shoes you are wearing they match your outfit nicely.” —– This is an example of a conversation starter.

As the conversation begins to progress, you need to be on your feet and thinking at all times. What would you do to get this person’s contact information with the possibility of locking up another presentation? Well…. certainly you have to ask questions! How long have you been working here? Where are you from? How do you like the area? Where did you attend college or high school?  All of these are going to lead you to making the conversation about them. You are curious and you must care about what they say. So please… ask questions, but don’t forget to LISTEN!

You hear the term Network Marketing and start to think, what is it exactly? You have pre-conceived beliefs and opinions about it, but really until you know, you don’t know.

Network Marketing Is:

Network Marketing is indeed an industry that you can take the reins of and become your own boss! How cool is that? But, depending on who you talk to, this may not be good enough. Well, according to Wikipedia, Network Marketing is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated by not only the sales they personally generate, but by the sales generated by others they recruit, creating a downline of distributors leading to multiple levels of compensation.

Okay I know that was long so take a breath and let’s get into it.

Network Marketing gives you the ability to

-Choose the people you work with on a daily basis

-Gives you the ability for Tax Write-Off savings like any other business

-Allows you to get compensated time and time again through the work of your team

-Work part-time from home

-Have an avenue that has the ability to achieve wealth and financial stability

The next step leads you to try and figure this out for yourself and look at different companies. You see the hype and the training and support you will receive. But do you really know what you’re getting yourself signed up with? Again, you are trying to figure out what Network Marketing is for sure.

So you take the step and finally sign up for with a company usually for an investment of anywhere from $500-$2,000 and then you complete your first step and receive your starter kit. Now many people think you just go out and work for that company. Wrong! This is not a job working for the man and you getting paid hourly by this company. You are agreeing to go out and represent this company, product, service and opportunity. You are now awarded compensation on YOUR efforts by the amount of product sold and then by the amount of product sold by your downline of distributors.

What this means is in order to make money and get the ball rolling, you need to be able to sell some product and become a leader and teach your downline distributors how to do the same thing. This makes sense because you get compensated on the amount or product or service that is sold through your whole downline organization, creating leverage.

That’s right. You read the title line correctly. So many times we often get mixed up in the struggle of trying to talk to friends and family that we end up being frustrated. Friends and family do not want to embark on a business venture with you, nor do they really know how the network marketing profession really works. This can drive away friendships and close relationships if not monitored correctly. Now, newbies are taught to make that list of friends and family and work that to the bone. Well, what happens when all those named are burned up and you are done with your warm market? Where do you go from here? I’m about to show you.

Post-It!

A very effective offline marketing strategy you can use is simply Post-It Notes. You are probably wondering how on earth can this be even remotely effective. Well, here’s the break down. People like touching stuff and looking at stuff. They love to feel involved. So let’s think about this strategy. What are you going to write on your Post-It note? How are you going to properly place these notes so they can gain notoriety and your phone and email inbox will be blowing up with individuals just dying to know about your business? When someone calls, how are you going to deal with them? In real time or are you setting up a voice mail system? How many of these things do I need to post around each day to be effective? Well, here’s all your answers.

1. What to post

You are simply going to come up with a catchy phrase that boasts what you have to offer which is your primary opportunity. You may write something to the effect of, “Make $300-$1000 weekly on a part-time basis! Looking for leaders. Will Train!” Whatever it is you come up with, please remember to make it grab the reader’s attention right away. Chances are they spotted your note with the ad on it and are in a hurry and in order for them to take that and make the call, it needs to be of importance.

2. Where to place your notes

This is where the process gets quite fun. I mean you can get as creative as you want. You would most definitely like to target the areas that receive the most traffic. Let’s start thinking about gas pumps, ATM machines, car washes, local newspaper stands, public bathrooms (yes I know, but many, many people use these each day). You get my drift? If you think of any other places, feel free and get these out as quickly as possible.

3. Phone is ringing, how do you deal?

This is totally up to you. Once your phone is ringing with people interested you need to now think about qualifying. This means you have all the time in the world to sit and talk to people for 5-10 minutes to qualify them into a high target lead. Or, you are busy marketing your business in the field and you set up an automatic voice mail message that in a sense qualifies your leads for you. This strategy is very vital because you do not want to waste your time on people who think they’re leaders, but take no action. So simply sign up for a Google Voice account which will enable you to forward calls to a new Google Voice number. Set up a voice mail that introduces you and how you are not available at the moment. Don’t stop there, rather give the prospect a series of things you are looking for in order to move forward with the process of giving them a presentation or webinar. Make them answer questions based on what you are requiring. If they leave their number and email or what have you, then you know you have a quality lead who is ready to dive in and work with you personally. If the person doesn’t leave the information, that’s okay too because your voice mail system just weeded out a “dead-beat,” lead for you that you do not need to spend time wasting on.

4. How many do I need to post each day?

Well, this is up to you. You need to dig down and come up with a reason to how bad you want this. How bad do you want to build your network marketing business and be able to be financially stable and free? I mean spending just 30 minutes a day placing a few here and a few there will not get you the results you are looking for. We are trying to generate tons and tons of leads whom you need to talk to every single day. So placing 30 Post-It’s on Tuesday and then maybe waiting and posting 20 on Friday, simply won’t cut it. Consistency is key with this strategy. In order to achieve Rock Star status and talk to 15-20 people a day, you need to be out there actively placing your Post-It’s by the 100′s. Think about it. If you get to a gas station that has 20 pumps, there’s 20 different cards out. How many banks are in your town? Many have one or two ATM machines. There’s another possible 6-10 out. It takes a little brain power and planning, but trust me if you follow the steps and stay consistent then the results are limitless.
